Papia Sengupta replaces Bhuwanchandra Joshi as Bank of Baroda Executive Director

VADODARA (BARODA) | MUMBAI | AHMEDABAD | RAJKOT – Bank of Baroda appoints Smt Papia Sengupta as Executive Director with effect from January 1, 2017 till September 30, 2019, the date of her attaining the age of superannuation or until further order, whichever is earlier, the company update said.

Sengupta replaces Bhuwanchandra B. Joshi, whose cessation as Executive Director was due to his superannuation on December 31, 2016, the company updates said

Smt. Sengupta is a Science Graduate, with additionat quatification of CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and CAIIB (Both Parts). She joined State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ) in 1983 as Probationary Officer and has handled responsibilities in several offices of SBBJ, State Bank of India (SBI) and State Bank of Patiala (SBP).

Prior to joining our Bank, she held the position of Chief General Manager (Retail Banking) since April, 2016 and Chief General Manager (Stressed Asset Management Group) since June 2015 at SBP. Smt. Sengupta also served as General Manager of Delhi network at SBBJ.

The company updates of cessation of tenure of Bhuwanchandra B. Joshi and appointment of Smt Papia Sengupta was informed prior to pre-trading session before markets opened today after a close for week on Friday, investors and markets however did not cheer the developments and instead the shares of the company ended in red on negative counters on the two leading Indian bourses – The Bombay Stock Exchange and The National Stock Exchange.
