IN IMAGES | Heavy Rains forecast in GUJARAT, SARKAR boards IAF Chopper, reaches GIR SOMNATH

GANDHINAGAR | AHMEDABAD | RAJKOT – DAY -1 : MONDAY | JULY 16, 2018 – Satellite image issued by Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) warms severe rainfall across Gujarat.

Following IMD Warnings, Gujarat Government has engaged into a complete preparedness to address any situation arising out of heavy rainfalls, especially in low lying areas and coastal districts of the Gujarat State.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has been on his toe since Monday morning personally taking toll of the situation and directly engaging with office-bearers in low lying areas and coastal districts of the state instructing on relief operations.

Additional 15 teams of NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) have been deployed in the state following severe rainfall warnings.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani engaged into rounds of meetings with office-bearers on understanding and interacting the severe rainfall warnings.


DAY – 2 : TUESDAY | JULY 17, 2018 | SARKAR boards IAF Chopper

On Tuesday, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani alongwith his Secretaries and Chief Secretary Dr J N Singh boarded Indian Air Force Chopper to take the view of low lying areas and areas hit by heavy rainfall, especially on the coastal belt of Gujarat.

After having the BIRD’s EYE VIEW over the situation the Government shall initiate action plan accoridingly and pass on directives, instructions for the relief work to be undertaken and action plan to meet the situation of disaster, sources in Government closely monitoring the situation and accompanying the Gujarat Chief Minister on IAF Chopper, told DATELINE GUJARAT.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani with his team of state machinery took the aerial view of the situation of water logged low lying areas and coastal areas of state, especially the west coast Saurashtra Region, which is severely affected due to heavy rainfall since last 24 hours.


SAFE LANDING & ROAD JOURNEY

As the IAF Chopper carrying Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and his team of government officials was not in position to land at Keshod Airpot due to weather conditions, the Chopper landed at Jetpur.

Gujarat Chief Minister  Vijay Rupani with his convoy embarked on the road-journey to Gir Somnath District, the worst affected district due to severe and constant rainfall since last 24 hours and conducted a meeting in person with the District Collector and District Officials, taking the toll of situation of worst affected areas, on ground and instructing relief works and measures to be undertaken accordingly.
