IL&FS ENGINEERING revived AHMEDABAD METRO PROJECT’s contract

HYDERABAD | GURUGRAM | MUMBAI | AHMEDABAD-GANDHINAGAR | RAJKOT – In a regulatory filing submitted to the Indian Stock Exchanges, Hyderabad headquartered infrastructure company IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company Ltd said of revived contact with Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) for phase-1 of Ahmedabad Metro Project.

The company statement as submitted to the Indian Bourses read that, This is to inform you that, M/s. Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited has agreed for the revival of the contract in respect of construction of viaduct corridor from interface point with Gyaspur Depot, that is abutment of Depot to APMC Metro Station to Shreyas Metro Rail Station to all inclusive of elevated portion from Chainage (-) 1374.50 to (+) 3246.50 m and Elevated Metro stations (Four) viz. APMC, Jivraj, Rajiv Nagar and Shreyas for Package-1 of North — South corridor for Ahmedabad Metro Project, Phase 1.


The balance works of project is to be completed within a time period of 15 months without any change in financial terms of original contract.

Earlier, the GMRC has terminated this contract on January 19, 2019 and now the Company IECCL and GMRC agreed to revive the contract and treat the intervening period from the date of termination as suspension of work without any extra claims except payment under price variation.
