Gujarat Industries Power commissioned 21 MW wind farm at Nakhatrana (Kutch-Bhuj)

VADODARA (BARODA) | MUMBAI | AHMEDABAD | RAJKOT – Of the total commitment of 71.4 MW wind power projects, Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd has completed the commissioning of 21 MW (megawatt) wind farm at Nakhatrana Wind Farm Site on Tuesday and 18 MW at Rojmal wind farm site in Amreli on October 20, 2016, tallying balance 32.4 MW installations yet remaining to be completed, towards green energy power generation commitment, by the company.

Last two wind turbine generators (WTGs) of 2.1 MW each were commissioned by the company at Nakhatrana wind farm site, of which certificate of commissioning was issues by Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), the company said in filing to exchanges on Tuesday evening.

In a prior communication to exchanges on October 25, 2016, the company intimated of having commissioned eight wind turbine generators (WTGs) of 2.1 MW each aggregating to 16.8 MW at the Nakhatrana Wind Farm Site, of which the certificate of commissioning was issued by Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) on October 20, 2016.

The company has already commissioned nine wind turbine generators (WTGs) of 2 MW each aggregating to 18 MW at the Rojmal Wind Farm Site in Amreli district and Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) has issued Certificate of Commissioning dated October 20, 2016, the company communication said.

On February 16 in a regulatory filing addressed to bourses in India the company had said of having issued Letters of Intent dated February 12, 2016 to Suzlon Energy Limited, New Delhi for installation of 71.4 MW Wind Power Projects at three different sites in the state of Gujarat. These Projects are awarded on Turn-Key Basis including Comprehensive Operation & Maintenance Contracts. The ordered capacity of 71.40 MW is scheduled to be completed in phased manner by April, 2017.

Despite the announcements submitted by the company to the exchanges in India post market hours, it seems the investors cheered the news of 21 MW Nakhatrana Wind Farm site commissioned news and the shares of the company ended up in green on positive counters on two leading bourses in India The Bombay Stock Exchange and The National Stock Exchange.
