GE Shipping takes delivery of Secondhand Gas Carrier

MUMBAI | RAJKOT – In a press release submitted to the exchanges in India on Wednesday, The Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd said of having taken delivery of a secondhand very large gas carrier.

The Company took delivery of a secondhand Very Large Gas Carrier “Jag Vasant” of about 83,270 cbm.

The Company had contracted to buy the vessel in Q2 FY 19, the release read.

The current fleet of the company comprises of 49 vessels.

With 35 tankers of which 12 are crude carriers, 17 are product tankers and 6 are LPG (liquified petroleum gas) carriers.

Other fleet comprises of 14 dry bulk carriers of which 1 vessel is a Capesize vessel, 8 vessels are Kamsarmax vessels and 5 vessels are Supramax vessels.

Average age of entire fleet is marked at 10.90 years aggregating 3.98 million dwt, the statement read.

Announcement from the company had hit the exchanges in India, after the trading session for the day had ended.
