GAIL to revive LPG plant @ Usar in Maharashtra, will invest 88 billion rupees

NEW DELHI | MUMBAI | AHMEDABAD-GANDHINAGAR | RAJKOT – In a regulatory filing submitted to the Indian Exchanges on Thursday, GAIL (India) Limited said of having approved revival of existing Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) plant at Usar in Raigadh District of Maharashtra and the company will invest 88 billion (~8,800 crore) rupees for proposed revival, which shall be functional by fiscal year 2023-24.

The filing read GAIL (India) Ltd has approved revival of existing LPG Plant at Usar, Distt. Raigad Maharashtra and converting it into 500 KTPA Polypropylene complex with an estimated investment of Rs 8800 Cr.

This is first of its kind project in India which would be using Propane Dehydrogenation technology for production of Propylene integrated with the downstream Polypropylene Unit.

The project is expected to be commissioned by FY 2023 —24.

The Project is proposed to be financed with mix of internal generations and external debts.
