Madhvi sitting miles away from her nephew and sister in New York, failed to find BLUE ROSES and so today exactly after one year, she is in the same city with a venture which delivers real roses that last for 1 year and available in 80 colour shades ranging from a minimum price tag of 1,500 (~US$ 22) rupees to 25,000 rupees (~US$ 368).

In one single rose 260 different shades can be applied which can last upto one year, claims Madhvi.

“This day is a big occassion in itself for me, because it has been exactly 1 year – today is my nephew’s birthday,” Madhvi said while speaking to DATELINE GUJARAT.

WHY INDIA?

In an extravagant event held on Sunday – on the eve of Friendship day at RAJKOT’s The Imperial Palace Hotel in the heart of the city – Madhvi launched her venture STUDIO DE FLEURS.

Studio De Fleurs (http://www.studiodefleurs.co.in/) is an E-Commerce venture to deliver flowers globally anywhere from US

In just 48 hours post announcement of the venture in RAJKOT, today the website has 12 orders for real roses which would last for one year, to be delivered upto New Zealand, from the recently kicked-off RAJKOT office.

“Rajkot office will take care for deliveries in the Asian and Ocenian (Australia-New Zealand) Continents, whereas Africa, Europe and US will be taken care by US office,” Madhvi claimed.

THE PROCESS

Studio De Fleurs imports roses from across the world, deploys the necessary waxing process to let it remain natural for four weeks and than creating the huge inventory, it is delivered anywhere globally, via logistics tie-up with several local and global courier companies.

Presently this roses are delivered from one single piece to a box full of rose flowers packed in boxes purchased by Studio De Fleurs from renowned luxury labels including CHANEL, Tiffany & Co etc.

The site has primely four product range to cater the customer requirements including

THE NOVELTY

Studio De Fleurs is all fired to innovate their products and bring a range of collection keeping in view the festival seasons in India including Navratri and Diwali collection.

“We will soon introduce new range of collection including Navratri and Diwali Collection as well Valentines Collection by the end of this year,” Madhvi claimed.

Would now the firm plan to launch cakes and soft-toys, followed by flowers, to which Madhvi adamantly says, “A BIG NO”

The present range of products shipped by the firm is not having fragrance, so Madhvi is working to explore as to how the element of fragrance can be added to the product.

“It is quite a challenge to add fragrance which can last for a year, so we are exploring options as to what best process we can adopt to see that the roses we sell can also have fragrance which can last for one year,” Madhvi said.

WHY RAJKOT?

When questioned, why not any other city in India including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru etc – especially keeping in view the on go, tech-savvy young generation, high spending power and why Rajkot, to which Madhvi says,

“Because my roots are here, i’m from Rajkot and i wanted to do something for the community here and for people of my country – very soon i’m planning to shift my entire venture from US to RAJKOT.”

On one such occassion during India Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to US and his appeal to the Indians to contribute towards motherland, Madhvi got inspired and found the ‘Make In India’ initiative of the present day government quite appealing, which has pulled her back to her roots.

Secondly, RAJKOT becomes a logistically viable destination to cater the Western Indian markets, “It is easy to deliver roses to Ahmedabad and Mumbai from here from RAJKOT,” Madhvi says.

WAY AHEAD

Madhvi has been engaged in several ventures including Hospitality, Exports-Imports in US and the flower venture is squeezing her energy completely, she claims.

“We are looking to take the venture to a complete different levels by sourcing our requirements from here in India, especially the flowers, and we find South India region according to our studies as one suitable terrain to support our sourcing activities,” Madhvi said.

Ofcourse India being a top of the mind of the firm owners, they are soon going to have warehousing facilities at New Delhi and Bengaluru to cater the Northern and Southern markets, Madhvi claims.

In next few years, Madhvi wants to turn Studio De Fleurs a million dollar venture and aims to improvize the life of farmers by sourcing the quality produces as required for her venture, from here from India.
