Eight Edition of Vibrant Gujarat, Global Investors Summit – 2017 hits 25,578 MoUs, for undisclosed amount

Camp : MAHATMA MANDIR (GANDHINAGAR) – In Eight Edition of Vibrant Gujarat, Global Investors Summit 2017 over three days sessions, 25,578 Memorandums (Memorandum of Understanding – popularly termed as MoU) were inked, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel announced the figure without disclosing the final amount attracted for investment in state of Gujarat vide 25,578 inked pacts. “However, number of total MoUs inked in Vibrant Gujarat 2017 increased by 2,500 more MoUs, as compared to number of MoUs inked in 2015 Vibrant Gujarat Event,” Patel said.

Medium & Small Medium Enterprises (MSME) lead the pack 18,553 MoUs were inked in MSME sector, Large scale investments MoUs were 5,938, Urban Development 1,625, Techno sharing 1,107, Animal husbandry 493, Power Sector 425, Minerals & Mining 409, Agro food 381, Rural Development 380, Health Services 285, Petro Chemicals 268, Environment 259, Education 190, Urban Housing 168, Textiles 151, Information Technology & Bio-Technology 147, Tourism Services 145, Industrial Park 123, Engineering & Auto 94, Financial services 93, Port-Logistics & Shipping sector 87, Water Management 51, Road & Rail networks 41, Special Investment Region 28 and Sports Culture 7.

There were 52 MoUs inked for investments of more then 40 billion (4,000 crore) rupees mainly attracting investments in areas of Agro, Petro, Engineering & Auto, Information-Technology & Bio-Technology, Port-Logistics-Shipping and Energy-Gas-Oil-Power sectors.
